Artist Reflection

For: Horizon Female Artist of the Year, Horizon Male Artist of the Year, Horizon Group or Duo of the Year

This is your chance to tell your story beyond just the music. Think of it as a space to reflect on your journey, share what the past year has meant to you, and talk about how you see yourself contributing to Alberta’s country music scene. It’s an opportunity to show the jury what makes you you.

While your recorded music is a key part of your entry, the jury also looks at your overall activity, growth, and impact on the community during the eligibility period. Your Artist Reflection helps paint the full picture.

Please take some time to thoughtfully write this section. Your voice and perspective matter here, and jurors will be reviewing what you share as part of their evaluation.

Length and Format

Your Artist Reflection should be between 1-2 pages. This is your opportunity to share your story, progress, and accomplishments in your own words. While applicants are welcome to create a document with images and other graphic design elements, it will not influence your final score.

We have created a sample Artist Reflection to guide you in the creation of your own. It is available here.
